OVERALL champion at the popular 'show within a show' - the sheep section - was a British Charollais bred and shown by Geoff Watson, of Kettering, Northamptonshire.
The two-shear ewe Sulwood Gracious Lady forms part of his flock of 60 Charollais and 30 Oxford ewes.

The reserve inter-breed was won by a breeder who has justification for describing the Great Yorkshire as his local show. Roger Field of Ferrensby, near Knaresborough, won with a Wensleydale yearling ewe shown 'in full wool'.

Mr Field has a small unit at Ferrensby while his sons Robert and Matthew farm at Harwood Dale, near Scarborough, where they have a flock of Lleyns.
