Video: Last year was worst of career, says Bradford Bulls’ Ferguson
The Scotland World Cup star was restricted to just seven games last term following a series of injury problems following his switch from Huddersfield Giants
He was left almost helpless as the club fell out of Super League, but agreed to stay at Odsal, vowing to help them make a swift return to the elite.

But he said: “I’m desperate to get going again. It was a massive disappointment for me last season, the worst year of my career, to be honest.
“I’ve a lot of fixing to do. I had other options to stay in Super League, but Bradford really didn’t get value for money last year and I felt I let a lot of people down.
“I’d come here as a marquee signing and didn’t really keep my side of the bargain.

“I’m sure I can get back to my best and repay Bradford for the faith they’ve had in me.”
Ferguson, 26, should be a genuine force in the Championship and, in general, the former World Club champions have recruited well in readiness for life in the second tier.
“I’m fully confident we can get in the top two with what we have,” he added.

“Obviously, the Championship will be difficult as everyone at the top end are signing well.
“It’s going to be hard towards the back end when it goes into the middle 8s but I’m fully comfortable we can do a job.”
On Huddersfield, he added: “They are always a physical pack with Danny Brough and Luke Robinson elusive out the back and some big outside backs, too, like Leroy Cudjoe and Joe Wardle, so it’ll be a good test.”
