As the battle to complete the season continues post-lockdown, they are back in Super League action against Salford Red Devils on Thursday. Last said: “That’s the problem, you’re just throwing the players out. You’re showing a little bit of video, a little bit of preview and you’re not getting any reps on the field. “We had one session leading into a quarter-final of the Challenge Cup against Wigan. “It’s frenetic and very tough. We’ll recover and review tomorrow (Sunday), have a session Monday, day off Tuesday, team run Wednesday and we’ll be playing again on Thursday. “You’ve no time to fix things up. It’s tough but it’s tough for everybody.” Hull were 26-0 down by the interval. Last said: “I thought after 30 minutes we started to get into the contest but we were clunky in attack and we played right into their hands. “That first half just wasn’t where we needed it to be.” Wigan coach Adrian Lam lauded captain Sean O’Loughlin on his first game since February – and hinted that the veteran loose-forward may play on next year. England captain O’Loughlin turns 38 in November when he plans to retire and join the club’s backroom staff. But Lam said: “He was outstanding. “He gives us a complete different attacking style and just having him there in the dressing room can only boost the players. “He’s not playing on at the moment but you never know. “I think he’s the best in the world at what he does.” Warrington Wolves beat St Helens 20-18 to set up a semi-final with Salford Red Devils.
