Mercer’s Carnegie exit confirmed
The former New Zealand rugby league international took charge of the Championship team on September 1, 2014, but left on November 23 after overseeing just two league wins.
A club statement read: “Yorkshire Carnegie have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with head coach Gary Mercer that will see him leave the club with immediate effect.

efforts since joining the club.
“Unfortunately for both ourselves and Gary, things have not worked out how we all had hoped back in the summer, however, both parties can now move forward having concluded this mutual agreement.’”
Tommy McGee continues as head coach with Carnegie travelling to their county rivals Doncaster Knights on Saturday.
