McColl ‘nervous’ for play-off challenge
The promotion play-off phase that kicks off today at Mennaye Field against Cornish Pirates is unknown territory for Leeds.
But McColl has first-hand experience of it, having gone close to reaching the semi-finals with Doncaster last season.

Hide AdNow fully-fit after a frustrating stint on the sidelines, the 23-year-old is wise to the challenges ahead.
“I’m more confident with Leeds than I was this time last year with Doncaster, but that just brings with it added pressure, which makes me more nervous,” said McColl. “We’ve got more to lose, which is difficult to approach.
“People are looking at us as the Premiership team, that because we came down last year we’re favourites to go up.
“So we are trying to keep ourselves to ourselves and just take it game by game.

Hide Ad“Last year we got close at Doncaster and what I learnt from that is it’s all about margins, and what happens on the day.
“You have to be the strongest team on the day; you cannot rely on next week as a fall back.”
