Sheffield Wednesday boss Darren Moore issues warning regarding 'tremendous' Ipswich Town striker Tyreece John-Jules

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY manager Darren Moore has paid tribute to someone he knows well in Ipswich Town striker Tyreece John-Jules and is anxious to avoid seeing his 'tremendous' qualities as a footballer on his Hillsborough return on Saturday afternoon.

Injury ravaged his loan spell with the Owls last season, with the Arsenal youngster having now linked up with Ipswich, who head to S6 for a mouthwatering League One encounter.

The 21-year-old, who has linked up with the Suffolk club for the whole campaign, made just one substitute appearance for the Owls last term.

But Moore, who also signed the forward on loan during his early time in charge of Doncaster Rovers, recognises talent when he sees it.

Moore said: “I have the utmost respect for Tyreece, he’s someone that I know really, really well.

“The player that he is, he’s tremendous. Good off both feet, he sees the game and he moves well. He carries a goal threat and can play in a number of different positions.

“He’s someone with wonderful versatility in the attacking areas and I’m really pleased number one to see him back fit and playing football and number two, managing to secure himself another wonderful loan move.

“I’m sure for him, he’ll want to make this loan move a successful one.

“I’m sorry that he didn’t have that success here at Wednesday. We took him in last season but unfortunately he sustained that injury and the Wednesday fans didn’t see the true potential of him.

“It’s great to see the move he’s got and I look forward to greeting him after the game.”

Owls left-back Reece James has also worked with John-Jules at two previous clubs, with the attacker also spending a loan spell at Blackpool last term.

James added: "He is a player I have played with at two different clubs; he is a good player and has been here (Wednesday) before. Obviously, injuries hindered him with his progress when he came here.

"But he is a player we have got to be aware of and try to do as well as we can against him."
