Nigel Adkins is relieved to see Sheffield United’s treatment room continue to empty ahead of a busy month of football.

Jose Baxter, Che Adams, Jamal Campbell-Ryce and Jay McEveley are all in contention for Saturday’s trip to Port Vale in League One.

The Blades are currently on a three-game unbeaten run but must pack in seven games in October.

Blades boss Adkins said: “Jose has trained so we’d like to think he is available.

“Che played for the under-21’s in midweek and there are more players coming back.

“Jamal (Campbell-Ryce) trained today and Jay (McEveley) trained today.

“There are more bodies out there now and it was great to see Flo (Cuvelier) get a little bit of a run in the under-21’s because he’s never been available to us.

“James Wallace did a little bit of training today as well.”
