Mike Phelan confirmed as Hull City manager on permanent basis

The former Manchester United assistant has been in temporary charge for almost three months after his former boss Steve Bruce - appointed by Aston Villa yesterday - quit over a disagreement with the club’s board and its transfer policy.

Talks have been held on and off for the last few weeks, but a positive outcome over Phelan’s long-term future has now been resolved.
