HERE are the Leeds United player ratings from this evening's Premier League home game against Newcastle United at Elland Road.

Meslier: Important first-half parry to keep out Fraser's curler. Little chance with Newcastle's goals. Made a fine finger-tip save to deny Wilson on the restart. 7

Dallas: Kept busy by Fraser at times, but stuck to his guns. Unquenchable and unstinting in his work ethic and his forceful night was crowned by the winner. A hero of 2020 for Leeds. 8

Ayling. Lost Clark for Newcastle's second equaliser. Sloppy moment could have been costly, but wasn't. 6

Cooper. Should have done better with a point-blank header in the first period. Did well enough in his defensive duties. 6

Alioski. Posted a threat in the first half and worked well in tandem, with Harrison. Ball-watched for Newcastle's first goal at the back post, but had his moment late on after finishing a brilliant team move. 7

Phillips. Him and Klich soon got a grip and started to dictate. Booked 8

Raphinha. Posed significant problems for Newcastle, with his close control, grace, pace and movement. Such an astute buy. 9

Klich. Trademark energy and kept Leeds ticking over. Key contribution for Dallas's goal. Booked 8

Harrison. Brighter than his previous two games and full of zest and threat. Fine assist for Rodrigo's goal and saved his best until last with a brilliant fifth goal. 8

Rodrigo. Popped up everywhere and never gave Newcastle a moment's peace. Unlucky when his header hit the bar, but Bamford followed up. A little culpable in giving the ball away for Newcastle's strike, but some of his offensive play was a joy - and his header to make it 2-1 was a delight. 9
