German defender Chris Lowe faces immediate competition from new signing
The former Charlton Athletic player, 20, has joined Town on a three-year deal for a fee which could rise to around £500,000 with add-ons.
Wagner says that Holmes-Dennis will immediately come into his Championship squad and be in the thinking from day one.

Hide AdWagner said: “We had the space after Jason (Davidson) left us last week. For us, it was clear that we let Jason go on loan that we would bring somebody new in.
“We had followed Tareiq for a long period and everything I have seen and heard from him and about his character was very positive. I think he is a very interesting player for us.
“He is a good age with great skills, especially for our identity and quick game.”
On whether he will be able to compete with German Lowe straightaway, Wagner added: “This is why we brought him in.
“When he adapts in this city, then he is his competitor and now we have two players in this position.”
