Shaun MacDonald has retired from football after being released by Rotherham United in the summer.

The 33-year-old midfielder joined Crewe Alexandra but after only four appearances for the Railwaymen, he has decided it is time to walk away.

The former Swansea City, Bournemouth and Wigan Athletic player made 37 appearances for Rotherham over two seasons.
