Clean bill of health at Rotherham United as EFL report no Covid-19 cases
A total of 5,524 players and club staff from all EFL clubs were tested as part of last week’s testing programme, with today’s results covering all tests undertaken from Monday, March 15 to Sunday, March 21.
Rotherham United, badly affected by Covid-19 cases earlier this month - and forced to postpone three Championship matches - have reported a welcome clean bill of health.

Hide AdIt comes after 25 positive cases for Covid-19 were recorded at the club in the EFL’s round of testing from Monday, March 8 to Sunday, March 14.
The governing body revealed in a statement o that 25 positive cases were returned from one EFL club - without naming the particular one in question but widely acknowledged to be Rotherham - following results from that particular round of testing.
On the latest results, EFL chief executive Trevor Birch said: “Today’s results are a testament to the hard work and efforts of all EFL Clubs during what has been a particularly challenging period.
“For 12 months we, like the rest of the society, have been dictated to by this virus. However, the stringent protocols implemented across the board have ensured that we are now able to turn our attention to returning to a certain level of normality.

Football remains one of the most heavily regulated areas of crowd management, with EFL clubs already demonstrating they can stage matches safely during a successful pilot programme earlier in the season.”
