Coach Carlos Corberan says Huddersfield Town need to sharpen up their attacking play after they lost a disappointing game between two out-of-form sides.

Millwall took a fourth-minute lead through Scott Malone and never relinquished it, Fraizer Campbell missing a penalty for the Terriers, who only hit the target once all night.

“With all the ball we had in the second half we didn't create enough chances,” said Corberan. “The only two chances we created in the second half were from set-piece situations.

“We began with a clear target to take three points. Unfortunately we didn't do everything we had to do because we couldn't create the chances we needed to create and we couldn't score the chances we had.

“They started very fast with a goal we needed to avoid and that made the game more complicated.

“We didn't defend well for the goal and after this we started to do some very goods things in the middle of the pitch and find advantages in the middle of the pitch that allowed us to attack well down the sides and in the middle too but we missed the penalty. We have taken two penalties in the league and haven't finished either well.”

As to what his side needs to do, Corberan explained: “We needed to open the spaces a little bit more. We made the pitch so compact and we didn't create enough options to play the ball between the first line and the second line, and the second line and the third.

“When that happened, the team could attack better.
