Victorian coins stolen from display
HISTORIC coins have been
stolen from a display case on
show in a north Derbyshire village.
They were taken from the foyer of Springs Health Centre in Recreation Close, Clowne, sometime between 9am and 5pm on Wednesday, June 12.
Seven coins were stolen from the cabinet including a copper George IV Irish penny, a Victorian cherub brooch, a Victorian silver shilling, a George III silver crown, a Henry VIII Durham Mint penny and a Victorian decorated gold leaf brooch.
A spokesman for Derbyshire Police said: “Anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the coins is asked to call PC Matt Ward on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.”
