Run to raise money for farm charity
Whirlow Hall Farm, on the edge of Sheffield, needs £300,000 in donations every year to stay open and workers are hoping that its involvement in the BIG Running Weekend in August will bring in around £5,000.
The event, to be held over the August Bank Holiday, will include several routes to challenge amateur athletes and elite runners able to take on a 55-mile “ultra” tour of the Peak District.

Sheffield-based running shop Accelerate is the official partner for the event and its managing director Stuart Hale said: “It’s long been an ambition of mine to bring together people who love running and celebrate this in a relaxed atmosphere with like-minded runners.”
