Development plan for Elland Road moves on
The site is near the Leeds United football ground and the council has a long-standing ambition to develop a total of 40 acres of land which is used for car parking on match days.
The objective of the development is to assist the communities of Beeston and Holbeck.

Hide AdYesterday’s acquisition means the council now owns all the land, with the exception of the football ground, within boundaries created by Elland Road, the M621, Lowfields Road and the Leeds to London railway line.
The area has been earmarked for development since a masterplan was drawn up in 2007 and the council say part of the work is already under way, with part of the site to be used for the development of a new divisional police headquarters.
