Out with the old as Scarborough paves way for new lifeboat station
Demolition of the RNLI’s former lifeboat station has begun as the crew prepares to welcome its new £2m Shannon-class lifeboat.
Members are operating from a temporary base while a new, bigger station is built to accommodate the state-of-the-art vessel, which will replace the all-weather Mersey class lifeboat Fanny Victoria Wilkinson, which is nearing the end of its life.
