If ever there has been a year in which our Nursing Support Workers across the whole health and social care system have proved their courage, commitment and vital contribution to society, then 2020 is surely that year.
We know of frontline staff who have had to adjust to unfamiliar roles; live apart from their own family to avoid the risk of spreading the infection; and who’ve held the hand of a dying patient when, tragically, their loved ones could not be there. Their dedication and the positive difference they make to patients, service users and their families deserves to be recognised.
