Our thanks to our very own Captain Tom Moore at 100 – The Yorkshire Post says
His humbling gratitude as he accepted a promotion to Colonel; the amount raised by his NHS charity walk surpassing £30m and his reaction when TV presenter Jeremy Vine ventured, quite reasonably, that the man of the moment might be “exhausted”. “No, I’m not,” replied the Yorkshire-born war veteran. They make ’em tough up here.
And then the sight of Captain Moore, his face bursting with pride and medals gleaming from the lapel of his jacket, punching the air as a Spitfire and Hurricane flew over his family’s home as the RAF paid their own tribute on behalf of the Armed Forces.

Editor’s note: first and foremost - and rarely have I written down these words with more sincerity - I hope this finds you well.
Almost certainly you are here because you value the quality and the integrity of the journalism produced by The Yorkshire Post’s journalists - almost all of which live alongside you in Yorkshire, spending the wages they earn with Yorkshire businesses - who last year took this title to the industry watchdog’s Most Trusted Newspaper in Britain accolade.

If you can, safely, please buy a paper or take up a subscription. We want to continue to make you proud of Yorkshire’s National Newspaper but we are going to need your help.
