Mill staff plea over plaque unveiling
Members of Aireborough Civic Society are to unveil a blue plaque to recognise the importance of cloth manufacturer Jonathan Peate in its history.
He built Nunroyd Mills in 1868 which employed residents until 1987. He sold the mill in 1909 and went on to re-invent Springhead Mills into a vertical woollen mill.
