Gifts for granny: Emmerdale star delivers presents to care home
The appeal was highlighted by The Yorkshire Post’s Loneliness: The Hidden Epidemic campaign for its focus on helping the lonely.
It was set up by Huddersfield businesswoman Stacey Crowther, who, struck by the plight of some of the people she met in Yorkshire care homes, last year decided to do what she could to change that, by collecting gifts for elderly people who would otherwise receive no presents at Christmas.

“We are delighted that Kelvin Fletcher could join us to deliver gifts this year.”
The appeal has been supported by LNT Group, which runs the Ashworth Grange care home in Dewsbury where the presents were delivered by Mr Fletcher yesterday. It donated 160 presents to the appeal.
Chairman Lawrence Tomlinson, said: “Gift for Granny brings much enjoyment to those elderly care home residents who don’t have family to give them gifts at Christmas – such a small gesture of kindness means so much to so many. We’re delighted to be involved for the second year. As ever, we’re very grateful to everyone who has so generously donated gifts.”
