Drivers ‘still ignoring clunk click message’
The motorists said its volunteer “streetwatchers” had been monitoring drivers at junctions and roundabouts across the country.
They had found that 4.92 per cent of drivers were not wearing seatbelts, 33 per cent were not indicating, nearly 10 per cent were going too fast, 3.6 per cent had faulty brake lights and 0.23 per cent were using mobile phones.

Hide AdDrivers in the west Midlands were the worst at not belting up, with 7.43 per cent not strapped in. Seatbelt regulations were best observed among motorists in the east Midlands (3.48 per cent).
AA president Edmund King said: he was greatly concerned some drivers still hadn’t got the “clunk click every trip” message.
