CCTV released after swans with eggs shot and killed in Leeds lake
The swans, a male and a female, were shot on marshland adjacent to Knowsthorpe water treatment works, in Pontefract Lane.
It happened between about 9pm and 9.30pm on Monday, June 8
A man was seen shooting a rifle in the area at the time.
He was with another man and a dog.
Officers have now released CCTV images to appeal for the public’s help to identify him.

Hide AdSergeant Dave Lund, West Yorkshire Police Force Wildlife Officer, said: “This is an appallingly cruel and unnecessary act and we are carrying out enquiries to find the person responsible and working with our colleagues from the RSPCA.
“We would like to hear from anyone who recognises the men in the images or who has any information that could assist the investigation.”
