Businessman guilty of killing lover’s husband
A jury at Bradford Crown Court yesterday found Kenneth Bill guilty of killing former police officer John Hay, 61, and burning his body on a bonfire as part of his plan to keep Mr Hay’s wife Carol, with whom he had rekindled an old love affair, for himself.
He then drove Mr Hay’s van to the Humber Bridge where he left it to try to make the Fenay Bridge builder’s disappearance look like suicide.
Bill, 63, from Thongsbridge, near Holmfirth in West Yorkshire, faces a mandatory life sentence but the judge will decided the minimum term he must serve before he is considered for release.
