Appeal to children for festive ideas
The council wants youngsters to design an event that could be run on one of the Saturdays leading up to Christmas.
Those taking part in the competition need to create a concept, produce a budget and then back up their ideas with market research.

Hide AdThe winner will receive a VIP invitation to the Christmas lights switch-on evening on Thursday, November 17 and will also work alongside the council’s events team to try and make their event – or parts of it – a reality.
Marie Hayes, marketing and events manager at Rotherham Council, said: “Children are our future and we have some fantastically talented and inspired young people in Rotherham who have the drive and imagination to help create some truly fantastic event.
“This is an opportunity to gain invaluable insight into event organisation and management. It is the kind of thing that shows employers you’ve got something special about you. “
