Maitland Flowers only opened this month, at its base on Wakefield Road, Huddersfield, but it has a history and heritage which will make it a sure fire success.

Kenneth and his partner previously grew the biggest garden centre chain in Denmark, starting out with a smaller business which they expanded as word of mouth spread. Now, his simple plan of cutting costs behind the scenes – negotiating volume purchase discounts and important top quality flowers three times a week – means he passes on huge savings to the customers.

Kenneth said: “Due to the size of the company we are able to negotiate the best prices which enables us to pass the savings on to our customers.

“With imports three times a week we have the freshest of plants and flowers. We don’t do deliveries or run a webshop, as our stock changes every week, but what we do offer is top quality, fresh flowers and plants for all.”
