After exam success James is to become a choral scholar
James Micklethwaite, of Alwoodley, picked up A*s in French and geography, and an A in religious studies and an A*in his EPQ at the Grammar School at Leeds.
The young tenor will now take up his role as a choral scholar at Norwich Cathedral where he will sing at services and concerts and also tour with the cathedral choir in Germany and America.

Hide AdJames, who has sung with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and the Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir, achieved Grade 8 in singing at the age of 11.
He was awarded the highest grade in a diploma from the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) at just 15, in an exam aimed at university students. Last year he passed the second stage of the diploma and was awarded the Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music.
After his year at Norwich Cathedral he plans to study philosophy at university.
