Pedalthon riders to hit the road again in May 2015
The heavens opened when the Carter Jonas Yorkshire Pedalthon set off on an epic journey around God’s Own County in May, but this failed to deter a team of 300 riders who were raising cash to support two local charities. Carter Jonas plans to make the pedalthon a regular event in the region, and the 2015 ride is scheduled to take place on May 8. It will raise funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Land Aid as a legacy event of the Grand Depart.
Teams from the Carter Jonas offices in Harrogate, Leeds, York and Boroughbridge took part in The Yorkshire Post-backed pedalthon, which raised £9,500 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, which is enough to keep the helicopter in the air for a day. The pedalthon also raised £4,500 for sustainable transport charity Sustrans.
