Dinner celebrates ties with China
These were some of the entertaining facts that emerged at the Yorkshire & Humber Chinese New Year Dinner, which was held at Leeds Civic Hall.
The dinner, which was supported by The Business Confucius Institute at the University of Leeds, UK Trade and Investment, the China-Britain Business Council and law firm DLA Piper, celebrated the growing economic ties between Yorkshire and China.

Hide AdA business panel, which was chaired by Greg Wright, the deputy business editor of The Yorkshire Post, featured entrepreneurs with Chinese connections. They were Eric Hawthorn, the managing director of Radio Design, based in Shipley, Chris Duley, the commercial director of Leeds-based GMAP Consulting, Diane Simpson, the director of specialist textile firm, AW Hainsworth, from Pudsey, and Julian Turner, the chief executive of Westfield Sportscar.
