Almost 300 jobs to be created at Hull's House of Hammonds building

Almost 300 jobs are set to be created in Hull as a major building undergoes renovation work.

ResQ, the outsourced contact centre company, has announced it will be taking over the second floor of the Hammonds of Hull building, in addition to the first floor which it currently occupies. The move will create 520 new work spaces and at least 290 jobs, the company said.

ResQ will split the cost of the renovation work with Hull City Council, which has granted £750,000 from its Levelling Up fund to help finance the project.

“The incredible vision, leadership and passion that our people show in delivering great results for our clients, means that we are able to forecast growth and commit to the creation of new jobs for Hull.”

A spokesman for ResQ said: “The building’s owner, Redefine Paragon Square Hull Limited, has been supportive of the project and the employment benefits it will bring to the local area.”

Garry Taylor, assistant director major projects, culture and place, at Hull City Council, said: “This project shows real commitment from Res Q Limited to a key city centre heritage building, with the creation of almost 300 jobs a huge benefit to the city. The Levelling Up funding scheme continues to benefit many buildings and businesses in the city and this is another great example of this.”
